Suitable installation methods:

glued-down (fully bonded) with flexible adhesive on any level, sound and dry concrete floor or plywood/OSB subfloor - using a correct notched trowel
secretly nailed using a Portonailer on battens or joists
or safely installed floating on top of the correct underlayment for your type of underfloor.
